![]() Put the card in the laptop and exported My Collection file (Waypoints and Routes) to the same location on the card as the USER DATA file. It can display pre-loaded BlueCharts G2, and G2 vision charts on SD cards on PC/Laptop screens for easier route planning. Inserted an SD card in my Garmin 4012 plotter and it duly prepared the card and it placed a file called USER DATA.adm onto the card. This is the PC passage planning tool that users of Garmins newer range have been waiting for (eg 450, 550, 40 series). ![]() It does the usuall tidal stuff too (ie heights and streams). To save data files to a connected device, select the device in. Select an option: To save data files to your computer, select My Collection, or select a list or folder under My Collection. NOTE: Some devices may not support saving or editing data files on the device. It has a nice passage planner that works out fuel required and fuel consumption based on own boat profiles and speed choosen per route leg. You can save data files on your computer or on a connected Garmin device. There is a nice feature which allows pre-loaded charts to be saved from plotters on to SD card and then viewed on a PC or Laptop using HomePort. It does work with older CD versions of BlueCharts and also the new G2 Vision charts on SD. HomePort is Garmin's replacement for MapSource and is primarily aimed at users of their newer range of G2 Vision plotters, but also works with older plotters for waypoint management. It costs €29 and is downloadeable from their web site. Garmin have just released their new HomePort trip planning and waypoint magement software this week.
